Black Student Union presents Black History Month 2012: Finding Unity in Diversity

The Black Student Union will be presenting an array of educational and social events during February to celebrate the lives and legacies of individuals and events of the African American diaspora that have made a lasting impact on our society. 

International Photo Contest entry deadline

Did you take that perfect photo when you were traveling, studying or working in another country; a photo that captures the essence of another culture, country or people? If so, now is your chance to show it!

PARTICIPANTS:

This contest is open to all members of the Loyola community - students, staff, faculty, and alumni. International students are encouraged to apply. You can submit photos taken in the U.S. or in any country other than your home country.

CATEGORIES:

This year's competition will include two different categories:

Category 1

a. Photos can be taken in any country other than your home country.

b. Photos should tell your audience something about the country.

Category 2

a. Photos of Loyola student(s) abroad taken by Loyola students, staff or faculty that show some aspect of the country or culture.

Winning entries in the International Photo Contest will be exhibited electronically in Loyola One in the Danna Center during International Week (March 5-10).

An opening reception will be held in the Living Room in the Monroe Library on Monday, March 5, 2012 from 5 - 6:30 p.m.

Web Communications will host a training seminar "Content First: Thinking about your website in terms of customer service." You have less than 30 seconds to engage a visitor to your website before you lose them forever. Learn about empathizing with your user and engaging your website's audience through the labels and content you post on your site. Find out about organizing and using formatting effectively, adding contextual links, photography and more to provide your audiences the information they seek.
