Awakening Retreat

Once a semester, University Ministry sponsors this retreat by students for students. The Awakening Retreat encourages students to experience the love of God through the embrace of an accepting community. It is a great way to connect with other students and explore your spirituality.

Body Mapping: Enhancing Musical Performance through Somatic Pedagogy

A certified Andover Educator, Dr. Heather Buchanan joins us as we explore prevention of injury and quality of movement as a part of our Montage Series theme on Artists' Health and Wellness. One of the most recent disciplines to enter the somatic (mind-body) field, Body Mapping is a neuroanatomical education technique designed to teach musicians skills of self-evaluation and change for performing with sensory-motor integrity. This workshop is designed to set each musician who takes it on a path of self-evaluation and change in the quest for cultivating free and effective movement in performance.

Southern Epistemology Conference

The Southern Epistemology Conference will draw philosophers from around the Southern region to present their current work in Epistemology.

Country Fair

The International Student Association and the Center for International Education will sponsor the Country Fair on Friday, October 23, 2015.

This free event showcases Loyola's diverse international community and gives students, faculty, and staff the opportunity to spend the afternoon "traveling" the world.

Live music, educational displays, and cuisine from a variety of countries are featured.

At the Fair, Loyola's international students as well as U.S. Americans, set up tables where they showcase a variety of items (flags, pictures, native clothing, artifacts, etc.) and food from their home countries or from countries where they have studied abroad.
