Annual Family Law Conference

Loyola is proud to present a new location for its 2015 Annual Family Law Conference. This year’s 2-day seminar is being hosted at the Sheraton Metairie-New Orleans Hotel located at 4 Galleria Boulevard. A major perk of this location is that it offers free parking. We hope you will be able to join us in Metairie! 

This program is dedicated to the practice of family law, with its unique challenges and rules. As usual sessions on recent developments in case law and the legislature are offered, as well as presentations on professionalism and ethics. Other topics include tax issues for the family lawyer, paternity, retirement plans, privilege, and advising the elderly client on long term care and Medicaid planning. 

Additionally, hear from Randall Smith on the intricacies of interdiction and a family court hearing officer on best practices for presenting child/spousal support claims during hearing officer conferences.

21st Century Success Training

A three-day training to teach the "learner-centered, dialogue approach" is used to teach issues of workplace readiness. Program is based on the 21st Century Success Principles curriculum.

Drop by the Operation TEACH Information Table to learn more about this innovative two-year post-graduate service program that seeks to develop a corps of motivated and committed educators to meet the needs of children in the Baltimore area. Operation TEACH participants earn a master's degree from Notre Dame of Maryland University and all costs associated with graduate education are covered by Operation TEACH.

Paddle with Professors Aimee Thomas and Craig Hood through some of the most beautiful swamps and bayous just a short distance from New Orleans in southeastern Louisiana.

The late afternoon into evening and night trip offers a great twilight experience to see firsthand our cypress trees, swamp, marsh plants, and wildlife. We usually see alligators, wading birds, ducks, and spectacular scenes of Spanish-moss covered trees. With lights after dark we shine for night stalking wildlife - an adventure you shouldn't miss.
