Ethics: Sudden Disability/Impairment – Ethical Obligations and Practical Reasons for Advance Planning for Louisiana Lawyers (speaker - Richard P. Lemmler, Jr.)

Given the possibility of sudden, unexpected/unanticipated disability and/or impairment (or even death) for anyone, a lawyer arguably has an ethical obligation—especially lawyers who practice as sole practitioners—to plan for the on-going, continued/uninterrupted care/representation of the lawyer’s clients. This hour will explore the ethics rules and practical reasons why advance “professional planning” is something that every Louisiana lawyer should—but very often not does not—take the time to do.

Professionalism: Professionalism in the Adversarial Process (speakers - Beverly Aloisio DeLaune and Jonathan M. Walsh)

Keeping your cool in an adversarial setting can be tough. Explore what every lawyer needs to know about how to avoid “losing it” with the court, your client and your opponents.
