Loyola United for Racial Justice Week


Our community will hold its first-ever Loyola United for Race Justice Week September 12-18, 2016. We hope you will join us at the following events co-sponsored by the College of Arts and Sciences, Office of Diversity and Inclusion, Mission and Ministry, Department of African and African-American Studies, Department of Criminology and Justice, University Honors Program, Women’s Resource Center, Black Student Union, and Living Our Vision Everyday Chapter of the National Association of Colored Women’s Clubs.

Faculty across the disciplines devote class time to a “teach-in” on racial justice.

Featuring faculty and staff discussion leaders including The Rev. Kevin Wildes, S.J., Bill Quigley, Ashley Howard, Rae Taylor, Laura Murphy, Courtney Williams, Liv Newman, Sue Weishar, Uriel Quesada, Nikki Eggers, and Sanjog Rupakheti.

Mini-seminar topics include Oppression, Racism in the Criminal Justice System, Pulse Massacre and Its Implication for Minorities, Racial Erasure, and Economic and Racial Disparities in Healthcare
