Writing for the Court: Giving Judges What They Crave

Loyola CLE is pleased to welcome a renowned speaker, Professor James C. Raymond. Dr. Raymond is the founder and president of the International Institute for Legal Writing + Reasoning, based in New York.  He has conducted workshops and seminars in legal writing and reasoning for judges, lawyers, bar associations, law schools, and quasi-judicial tribunals in the U.S. and more than 35 foreign jurisdictions. His workshops are based on an original issue-driven approach, applicable to every phase of litigation from drafting pleadings to writing appellate judgments. You will learn to write with more efficiency, organization, a clearer style, and more persuasive analysis. Also, you will learn strategies useful in planning litigation, conducting efficient trials or hearings, promoting settlements, and preparing oral arguments and judgments.  It is appropriate for both judges and counsel.  Participants are invited (not required) to submit a writing sample in advance and to bring it to the session to be used as the basis of an individual revision exercise.

TRIO FESTIVALE are an international chamber ensemble, featuring American flutist Sabrina Hu, Irish cellist Gerald Peregrine, and Northern Irish pianist Cathal Breslin. 

Free and Open to the Public.

Formed in 2008 in Dublin, Ireland, Trio Festivale comprises three of the world's finest soloists and chamber musicians, who are eager to further explore the rare and distinctive repertoire of the flute, cello, piano trio. They have toured regularly throughout Europe, America, and Asia, giving concert performances at many of the most prestigious venues in the world. 

Trio Festivale has recently performed to great critical acclaim in venues such as Carnegie Hall in New York, the National Concert Hall in Dublin, Rice University in Houston, Peking University and Beijing Central Conservatory in China, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, the Korea Foundation in Seoul, and many more prominent venues across the U.S., Asia, and Europe.


Trio Festivale are strong advocates of contemporary music and have commissioned and premiered works by composers Benoit Granier, Ed Bennett, Ian Wilson and many more. 

Upcoming concerts in 2016-17 include extensive tours of the United States, Ireland, UK, China and Korea.

The Trio greatly appreciate the valuable financial support of Culture Ireland, for sponsoring this 6 concert tour in Tennessee, Mississippi, Louisiana and Texas. These concerts are part of the Culture Ireland's support of Irish culture abroad, part of the nationwide "2016 Centenary Program, a rich diversity of events which will run throughout 2016 to commemorate the centenary of the 1916 Easter Rising.”
