Environmental Roundtables are facilitated discussions of important environmental issues, hosted by the Loyola University Environment Program. Facilitators include Environment Program Faculty and guest hosts.
Anthony Rizzi, a student from the Environment Program, will facilitate a discussion entitled "How to say N.O. to Climate Change: A Student's Survival Guide on Local Environmental Issues"
I moved to New Orleans because it is the hub for environmental issues. Pipelines, disappearing wetlands, pothole-ish government, and much more. I also moved to New Orleans because I realized this city has the chance to be a powerful leader in the environmental movement, one that will inspire cities across the world to change to a greener way of living. But it all starts with the public. With over five major colleges and universities in Louisiana, the responsibility falls to us, the students, to sustainably innovate this drowning state. The next few years will be crucial for the environment, but it does not have to be so bad if we work together. Right here we, the students and faculty, will find ways to not only survive our local environmental issues, but help Louisiana change and thrive for the better. The change starts now and it starts with us.
