Early Warning

Professors are strongly encouraged to log onto LORA to provide early warning feedback to undergraduate students about attendance and academic difficulty. Early warning for Fall 2016 will be open from Sept. 12 through Sept. 25.

SSC Workshop: I Can Do It Later: Procrastination and Priorities

Time: 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm

Liz Rainey, Director of Retention and Student Success, will meet with students to talk about procrastination. We'll talk about the things that get in the way and strategies to organize and prioritize. 

Mini-Seminars on Racial Justice

Time: 6 pm to 8:30 pm

Location: Monroe Library, First Floor

Loyola University New Orleans will host mini-seminars on racial justice, featuring faculty and staff discussion leaders including: Bill Quigley, Ashley Howard, Rae Taylor, Laura Murphy, Courtney Williams, Liv Newman, Sue Weishar, Uriel Quesada, Nikki Eggers, Sanjog Rupakheti, Nicholas Mitchell.

Topics will include:

  • Oppression, Racism and the Criminal Justice System
  • Pulse Massacre and Its Implication For Minorities
  • Racial Erasure

The schedule will include breakout sessions from 6:00-6:45 p.m. and 6:50-7:35 p.m. All mini-seminars are offered twice consecutively to allow students to participate in more than one.

The last breakout session will be from 7:40-8:30 p.m. in a discussion titled "Where do we go from here?," which will feature faculty affiliated with the African and African American Studies interdisciplinary program.
