The Mark Grote Visiting Artist Guest Lecture is an annual event brings to campus internationally recognized artists, curators and critics. The 2018 Visiting Artist is no different. Dr. Robert Storr is a painter by training who is especially well known internationally as a curator, critic, and until recently, dean of the School of Art at Yale University.

Storr, the first American ever selected to be the commissioner for the Venice Biennale (in 2007), is a star in the contemporary art world. He recently released a book on the artist Louise Bourgeois.

He will spend two days at Loyola as the 2018 Mark Grote Visiting Artist and during that time he will be working and engaging with Art students in their studios and delivering an evening lecture on March 20, 2018, in Miller 114, which is free and open to the public.
