The Institute for Continuing Legal Education at Loyola University New Orleans College of Law in conjunction with the U.S. Department of Labor are proud to present the 2016 Annual Longshore Conference, a two-day program for maritime lawyers seeking exposure to changes in the Longshore and Harbor Workers' Compensation Act (LHWCA). Topics include recent judicial decisions under the Act, navigating concurrent jurisdiction, and work and vocational rehabilitation, among others.
We are pleased to note that all the District Directors of the Office of Workers’ Compensation Programs are again attending and forming a panel to discuss practicing before the OWCP, how the District Offices Operate, and administration of medical care under Section 7.
Additionally, hear from all the Chief Judges of the OALJ on topics such as implementation of the Amended Rules of Practice and Procedure and the operation of the National Office of the OALJ-case assignments and allotments.
This year’s program will address several timely topics of interest to Longshore and DBA practitioners. Novices will have the chance to seek a better understanding of the longshore and workers’ compensation issues, and seasoned practitioners will benefit from more advanced presentations. This conference provides a great learning platform for both attorneys and claims professionals.
