Loyola CLE is pleased to welcome a renowned speaker, Professor James C. Raymond. Dr. Raymond is the founder and president of the International Institute for Legal Writing + Reasoning, based in New York.  He has conducted workshops and seminars in legal writing and reasoning for judges, lawyers, bar associations, law schools, and quasi-judicial tribunals in the U.S. and more than 35 foreign jurisdictions. His workshops are based on an original issue-driven approach, applicable to every phase of litigation from drafting pleadings to writing appellate judgments. You will learn to write with more efficiency, organization, a clearer style, and more persuasive analysis. Also, you will learn strategies useful in planning litigation, conducting efficient trials or hearings, promoting settlements, and preparing oral arguments and judgments.  It is appropriate for both judges and counsel.  Participants are invited (not required) to submit a writing sample in advance and to bring it to the session to be used as the basis of an individual revision exercise.
