Master drummer John Vidacovich will lead a supporting ensemble made up of students from Loyola’s jazz program in a concert of classic jazz standards and iconic original compositions.
In a city laden with renowned drummers, Vidacovich is iconic. His animated, idiosyncratic style is rooted in New Orleans street beats, but is highly adaptable and expressive. From French Quarter clubs to the big stages of the world, over the years, he has became the most sought after drummer in the city of New Orleans and has received accolades from the Big Easy Entertainment Awards, Offbeat, Downbeat Drummer World and the New York Times.
