Sleep 101: From Trees to Dorm Rooms - Humans spend 1/3 of their lives doing one behavior....sleeping. Research has greatly advanced our understanding of sleep in recent decades, but much remains to be learned. This talk will provide students with scientific insights into three basic questions: 1) Why do we sleep? 2) What goes wrong with sleep?and 3) What happens when we don't get enough sleep? Join the discussion on Friday, April 27 from 3:30-4:30pm in Miller Hall 114 with Dr. Candice Alfano. She is a professor in the Clinical Psychology Program at the University of Houston, and also serves as Director of the Sleep and Anxiety Center of Houston.
