The rise of Effective Altruism over the last decade has revolutionized both charitable giving and NGO work abroad. It has done so largely by focusing on using limited resources as efficiently as possible to improve desirable quantifiable outcomes in human beings, such as quality-adjusted life years (QALYs). Only with this information, we claim, can we really know how to do good best.
