Dr. Nathan Henne

Friday, September 21, 2018
3:30-4:30 p.m.
Whitney Presentation Room, Thomas Hall
What is the history behind the specific conditions that cause so many Central Americans to risk everything—their lives included—to flee to the US? Has the US really done a better job of creating good economic opportunities? Is there merit in allegations that the US has directly and indirectly violated the sovereignty of the countries of the “Triangulo del Norte” (Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras) to create the very conditions that force people to flee? Who is responsible for the current immigration crisis?
