As listed on the 1L Master Calendar the 1L portfolios, ALL 1L students (civil and common) are REQUIRED to attend this Bar Exam presentation. Please note that the date of the this presentation has changed.  In the event that you cannot attend due to an emergency, please email Professor Suzanne Scalise directly, sscalise@loyno.edu.

All 1L students (civil and common) are required to attend a character and fitness bar exam presentation provided by the Louisiana State Bar Association (“LSBA”) on Thursday, March 30, 2017, at 12:30pm in room 405.  This presentation will be recorded for evening students and made available by email.  If you are not registered as an evening student, you MUST attend the live presentation.

In order to sit for ANY BAR EXAM, you MUST pass a state-specific character and fitness investigation.  In most states, including Louisiana, that investigation consists of a very long and thorough application provided by the National Conference of Bar Examiners (“NCBE”).  The NCBE application is long and complicated and students always have questions about it that I cannot answer.  The LSBA's presentation will explain what you should know about character and fitness requirements and the NCBE application process, which process begins at the start of your 2L year.

Attendance will be recorded and is mandatory for all day students.  Again, a recording will be made available for evening students who cannot attend during the day.  Pizza will be served.
