n the Year of Mercy proclaimed by Pope Francis, the University Chaplain is hosting our first Lenten Prayer Breakfast on Monday, February 15, the first Monday morning of Lent. Alumni in the New Orleans area are invited to join the Loyola community.

Lenten Prayer Breakfast

The buffet breakfast will feature a Lenten homily by Ansel Augustine '00, M.P.S '02, the Director of the Office of Black Catholic Ministries and Loyola New Orleans alumnus.  It will be a joyful and prayerful way to begin the Lenten season.  

There is no charge to attend but we are asking alumni to register in advance by contacting the Office of Alumni Engagement or via the link here.

"God is not indifferent to our world," Pope Francis said in his Lenten Message 2015.  “God suggests shaping our hearts to be more merciful..."

In the Year of Mercy proclaimed by Pope Francis, the University Chaplain is hosting our first Prayer Breakfast on Monday, February 15, the first Monday morning of Lent.   

On behalf of the Office of University Chaplain, we would like to invite you to attend this Lenten Prayer Breakfast, which will be held at 7:30am to 8:30am in the Audubon Room of the Danna Center.

Step-N-Tone

Time: 12 pm to 1 pm

Step-n-Tone is a one hour class that covers all the components of a complete workout – cardio, strength training, balance and flexibility.  And the step makes it easy for all levels to work out together from beginner to expert.  No judging here - come out for some faith, fun and fitness with friends!

Body Pump

Social Host Training

Social Host Training is a workshop based risk management initiative provided for all student organizations who wish to host events with alcohol. The goal of Social Host Training is to provide students with the knowledge and skills needed to successfully manage an event with alcohol. Organizations requesting to host an on or off campus event with alcohol must have two members from the organization present at the training

Social Host Training will cover the following topics:

  • Event Risk Management & Safety
  • Identifying Risk
  • Event with Alcohol Guidelines
  • Event Registration Process
  • Strategies for Managing High Risk Drinking
  • Strategies for Handling Intoxicated Guests 
  • Signs of Alcohol Poisoning
  • Sexual Assault Prevention
  • Medical Amnesty/Good Samaritan Policy

As noted above, two organization members must be present for the entire training in order for an organization to host an event with alcohol on or off campus.

BollyX Cardio Dance Class
