This program provides $6,000 to individuals pursuing advanced research of value to the humanities, general audiences, or both. Eligible projects usually result in articles, monographs, books, digital materials, digital publications, archaeological site reports, translations, editions, or other scholarly resources. Applicants must be nominated by their institution, and there is a strictly enforced limit of two nominations per institution. The success rate is 9%, but scholars whose projects are not funded are encouraged to reapply, as the reviewers change from year to year.
The NEH deadline for full proposals is September 29th. If you would like to be considered for nomination and receive specific information about internal deadlines, please consult your chair (if you are a member of the College of Arts and Sciences) or the grants office (Heidi@Loyno.edu; x3086).
