SKR-01242617: Spanish for Lawyers

(Tuesday/Thursday, January 24th & 26th, 2017) (12:30pm-2:00pm) (LS 111)

For the first time in our skills curriculum, we are offering a short course dedicated to improve students understanding and ability of the Spanish language in the context of legal proceedings.  All students are welcome to attend. A portion of the class is dedicated to understanding legal terms in Spanish.  Overall the class is important for all lawyers  to provide better legal services, avoid misunderstandings, build client trust and deepen cultural competence in the community. We will further discuss pathways to use language skills in the legal practice like becoming a certified court interpreter.

*This course satisfies the required Cross-cultural Competency skills course for law students who entered Fall 2014 and thereafter.
