Social Host Training is a workshop based risk management initiative provided for all student organizations who wish to host events with alcohol. The goal of Social Host Training is to provide students with the knowledge and skills needed to successfully manage an event with alcohol. Organizations requesting to host an on or off campus event with alcohol must have two members from the organization present at the training

Social Host Training will cover the following topics:

  • Event Risk Management & Safety
  • Identifying Risk
  • Event with Alcohol Guidelines
  • Event Registration Process
  • Strategies for Managing High Risk Drinking
  • Strategies for Handling Intoxicated Guests
  • Signs of Alcohol Poisoning
  • Sexual Assault Prevention
  • Medical Amnesty/Good Samaritan Policy

As noted above, two organization members must be present for the entire training in order for an organization to host an event with alcohol on or off campus.
