As part of ELS Environmental Justice Week, ELS is hosting two speakers who will talk about the recent struggle at the City Council to regulate the Air BnB industry. Speaking on the industry's effect on gentrification in the city, on property values, on safety and neighborhood character. Participants will talk about how to regulate this kind of land use and what the neighborhoods want going forward. We see this as an emerging environmental/social justice issue. Speakers are John Pourciau, the Chief of Staff for City Council District B and Meg Lousteau, the Executive Director of the Vieux Carre Property Owners Residents and Associates Association (VCPORA).
