Soundscapes, Acoustic Ecology and Multimedia with Jed Speare

Jed Speare, initially trained in music composition, is a multi-disciplinary artist who will showcase his talents in a multimedia presentation March 10.

Speare has presented sound, performance, video, installation, conceptual, multimedia and community-based works nationally and internationally in festivals and locales such as San Francisco, Amsterdam, Taiwan, Czech Republic, Belarus, Bulgaria and Italy. He has also created conceptual works about the sound environment that include the investigation and creation of urban "quiet zones."  He is currently the Director of the Mobius Artists Group. Wire Magazine wrote: "...this unsung composer is a pioneer of multimedia presentation."
