The documentary, "The Upstairs Lounge Fire," is about the worst mass murder of gays in U.S. history, which occurred in the French Quarter of New Orleans on June 24, 1973. This documentary examines the tragedy and features interviews with an eyewitness, a son who lost his father, a rookie firefighter called to the scene, author Johnny Townsend and artist Skylar Fein, whose exhibit about the incident gained national prominence.
The screening will also feature a Q-and-A with the director/writer Royd Anderson as well as free popcorn.
