In an annual homage to revolutionary jazz saxophonist John Coltrane, Loyola University New Orleans saxophone professor Tony Dagradi and friends will present the Jazz Underground concert Coltrane’s Sound.
A widely emulated musician, Coltrane was a driving force of jazz music, both artistically and technically. Dagradi, alongside an all-star group of New Orleans musicians, will present a full evening of Coltraneʼs music, including interpretations of unique Coltrane originals, as well as classic standards.
Dagradi is an internationally recognized jazz performer, composer and educator. Among other guests, alto saxophonist Khari Allen Lee will join him on stage. Lee, who has made a name for himself as a soulful modernist, is a teacher at the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts.
Free parking is available in the West Road Garage, accessible from St. Charles Avenue.
