While classes are on break, the Office of Community Engaged Learning, Teaching and Scholarship will be hosting a van tour of five community partner agencies in New Orleans: Harry Tompson Center (day center for homeless individuals), Project Lazarus (residence for people living with HIV/AIDS), Hagar's House (long term transitional home for women and children), Bridge House (residential rehab program for those recovering from substance abuse), and Hope Lodge (temporary residence for cancer patients undergoing treatment at local hospitals).
Each agency will provide a tour of their facilities and a brief talk from a staff member, as well as some time for Q&A. OCELTS will be providing free lunch from nearby Pizza Delicious during our stop at Project Lazarus.
Open to any faculty member interested in community issues. Maximum of 10 spots available on a first-come, first-served basis. Reserve a spot by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
