Disaster & Resistance: Political Comix of Our Time

Noted political comix artist Seth Tobocman will present a slide show and talk.  In his book Disaster and Resistance, he includes extensive material on Hurricane Katrina and the grassroots recovery struggle in New Orleans and southeast Louisiana in the aftermath of the storm and flooding. Tobocman is a pioneering figure in political comix. He co-founded World War 3 Illustrated magazine in 1980, and is the author of Understanding the Crash, War in the NeighborhoodPortraits of Israelis and Palestinians for My Parents, and many other works.

This event is free and open to the public.  It is sponsored by the Loyola Environment Program, the Twomey Center for Peace Through Justice, and the Curtin Distinguished Professorship.
