Bellwether Technology presents "Music Under the Oaks" in partnership with the Loyola University New Orleans College of Music & Fine Arts and WWNO. Bring your lawn chairs and join us for a special fall concert series to celebrate the new Audubon Park Conservancy. All concerts are free and open to the public and food and drink will be available to purchase.
The first concert in the series set for Friday, Sept. 5 from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at the Audubon Park Newman Band Stand features The John Mahoney Big Band. A regular performer at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival and the city’s premiere jazz club Snug Harbor, The John Mahoney Big Band is led by beloved jazz educator and recently retired Loyola University New Orleans professor John Mahoney. The John Mahoney Big Band specializes in original compositions and arrangements by Mahoney demonstrating the highest levels of performance and improvisational skill. It is composed of 18 of the finest musicians anywhere, who currently choose New Orleans as their home.
Other concerts in the series set for Friday afternoons at 4:30 p.m. feature Loyola faculty and student artists. The lineup includes:
