Award-winning Spanish pianist Marta Espinós will present a free masterclass for students as part of the Montage Fine and Performing Arts Series at Loyola University New Orleans.

Espinós was born in Valencia, Spain, where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in chamber music from the Conservatory of Music “Oscar Esplá” of Alicante. She later received a scholarship from the Valencia Music Institute to pursue postgraduate studies in piano and chamber music at the Music School of Barcelona. Espinós also studied with the renowned Spanish classical musician Joaquín Achúcarro in the master’s program at the Meadows School of the Arts at Southern Methodist University in Dallas.

In 2008, she won the Meadows School of the Arts Annual Concerto Competition and the Von Mickwitz Prize. In 2010, she was elected a member of Pi Kappa Lambda National Music Honor Society for academic merit and professional excellence. Espinós will perform “Ole! Spanish Music at the World’s Fairs” at the New Orleans Museum of Art Friday, April 12 at 5:30 p.m.
