Robyn McGee is a Los Angles based writer and much in demand motivational speaker, whose book Hungry for More (Seal Press 2005) was inspired by her beloved sister Cathy who died in 2001 after a gastric bypass operation.  Since the publication of Hungry, Robyn has traveled across the country speaking to young women and men about the importance of maintaining healthy minds, bodies and spirits.  A critic of the stereotypical ways people of color are portrayed in the media and popular culture, Robyn has appeared on BET, NPR, the Oprah Winfrey satellite radio program, among other media outlets.  Her writing credits include articles in Seventeen Magazine, American Sexuality journal and assorted blogs and websites.  Hungry for More has been updated as an e-book, including a chapter called, “From “Michelle Obama to Bridezillas” and with the additional information about the increasing popularity of the lap band weight loss surgery.

This event will be followed by a reception.
